Information Literacy Instruction and Support

Class Integrated Information Literacy Instruction

Librarians are happy to visit your class to provide instruction in information literacy, research skills, and use of library tools at the Albany campus, online, and all LBCC Centers. Please fill out this form to schedule. Please try to make all requests at least two weeks in advance of your desired date. If you have any questions, contact Bryan Miyagishima (miyagib@linnbenton.edu).

Class assignment web pages

The library will create web pages specifically for course assignments, which include recommended research tools, ideas for working through the research process, and other suggestions to help students be successful with the assignment.

Help with assignment design

For instructors looking to improve existing assignments or wanting to create a new one, librarians can help design effective research assignments.

Tip sheets or tutorials for research tools

Librarians can create video mini-tutorials or web page tip sheets on particular research tools by request.

Individual research assistance for students

Students can use Watermark (formerly Aviso) to make appointments for individual help with their research projects. Librarians are also available for drop-in assistance at the reference desk and by email,  phone and chat during the Reference Desk hours posted on our home page.

Using online resources in your classes

For most library databases (except Ebook Central), the URL in your browser is not stable; it will expire and won’t function later. Instead, look for the Share or Permalink option. See the video below or contact a librarian for more detailed instructions.
